Software Group/Project Manager
Measurement Computing Corporation (MCC) currently has an opening for a Group/Project Manager to lead the development of its software R&D team. This is a great opportunity to innovate with a skilled and motivated team on exciting technology.
The Software Group/Project Manager position offers an immediate opportunity to lead a software development team of 3-9 developers. It provides a chance to provide input to hardware designers on our hardware product portfolio, to interface with 3rd party partners, and to work in collaboration with teams and technologies at National Instruments Corporate headquarters (NIC).

- Train and develop members of the team
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Identify and resolve issues and manage project dependencies and critical paths
Job Responsibilities:
- Working with hardware and product strategy teams on product focus and direction
- Managing personnel for a motivated and talented team
- Managing several simultaneous releases, and facilitating development and feature trade-offs
- Defining projects and technologies for a team of engineers
- Conducting successful design and code reviews
- Mentoring other engineers and facilitate their technical growth
- Facilitating making the appropriate technical decisions
- Problem-solving - diagnosing technical issues and proposing viable solutions; enjoying problem solving
- Taking initiative in tackling difficult issues - being a self-starter and working independently
- Persistently driving tasks and projects to successful completion
- Taking ownership of goals and project schedules
- Communicating clearly - Listening attentively, actively participating, and leading fast-paced technical conversations
- Quickly learning applicable technology, systems and products
Position Requirements:
- Minimum five years of relevant, full-time industry experience
- B.S. or M.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
- Thorough understanding of computers and high-level programming languages; prefer proficiency in C/C++ programming
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
- Competency in English – can clearly and concisely communicate in English so that persons you work with can understand you clearly, particularly technical conversations
- Strong understanding of the following concepts and principles:
- Operating system components and design
- Computer system architecture and organization
- Data structures
- Development methodologies including object-oriented analysis and design
- Good software design and architecture principles
- Deep understanding of how to solve complex technical problems
- Demonstrated capability to independently define and drive significant software projects to successful completion
- Passion for learning about and working with computer-industry technologies
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other groups in an organization
