Answer: 
Thank you for your inquiry. Our WEB-TEMP does not have any internal memory for data storage. Unfortunately, if you were to lose your Comm Link you would lose the data as well. We do offer a line of WiFi enabled temperature/humidity loggers called the WiFi-500 Series which would store data internally if your WiFi connection was lost. Once the connection was re-established, the devices would restart the transferring of the data. You can find additional information on our WiFi-500 Series here: http://www.mccdaq.com/wireless-data-acquisition/WiFi-500-Sensor-Series.aspx. We also have a data logger (although not Ethernet or web enabled) that has the capabilities of storing data to a Compact Flash card. The USB-5203 is in actuality a USB-TEMP with the added feature of a Compact Flash card for remote temperature data logging. Can I use Power over Ethernet to run a single cable to this device and get 8 channels of measurements? What is the power requirement? voltage, current etc?

Unfortunately, the WEB-TEMP is not PoE compatible and an external power source is required (and included in each
order.) The power requirements for the WEB-TEMP are:

Voltage: +5 (±5%)
Current: 440mA (continuous)

Summary
Measurement Computing's WEB-TEMP is a Web-enabled temperature measurement device that provides 8 temperature inputs and supports all of the common sensors types — thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors and semiconductor temperature sensors.

The WEB-TEMP has its own built-in Web server, which allows the user to monitor the temperature on a browser from anywhere in the world, via the internet.

The WEB-TEMP provides temperature measurement flexibility as each channel can monitor any of the supported input types. This allows you to mix and match the sensor to measurement without needing additional signal conditioning.

The WEB-TEMP offers the most accurate temperature measurement possible, since the internal measurement electronics accuracy exceeds the accuracy specifications of the temperature sensors. In other words, the WEB-TEMP will provide the best measurement your sensor is capable of.

The combination of the WEB-TEMP and Measurement Computing’s DAQ software suite gives you a complete data acquisition solution that will have you taking measurements in minutes.

Many applications can be configured in a few minutes, rather than days or weeks.

TracerDAQ® Pro TracerDAQ® Pro provides four virtual instrument applications used to graphically display and store input data – and generate output signals – within minutes of installing Measurement Computing data acquisition hardware. The applications allow the user to customize appearance, store configurations for future use, save data to a file for export and – with the use of interactive hotspots – change settings while the application is running.
