Summary

The USB-1608FS-Plus is a full-speed simultaneous-sampling USB device that provides eight single-ended 16-bit analog inputs, eight DIO, one event counter, one external digital trigger input, and one bidirectional external clock.

Everything you need to begin acquiring, viewing, and storing data is included with each USB-1608FS-Plus device, including comprehensive software support.

Analog Input: Each of the eight single-ended 16-bit analog input channel has a dedicated A/D converter for simultaneous sampling. The device offers software-selectable analog input ranges for ±10 V, ±5 V, ±2 V, and ±1 V.

Sample Rate: The USB-1608FS-Plus acquires analog input data using software paced, hardware paced, or burst scan mode.

In software paced mode, the typical throughput sample rate is 500 S/s (system-dependent).

In hardware paced mode, the total sample rate is 400 kS/s divided by the number of channels being sampled, with a maximum rate of 100 kS/s for any channel.

In burst scan mode, the total sample rate is 800 kS/s divided by the number of channels being sampled, with a maximum rate of 100 kS/s for any channel. Burst scan mode is limited to acquisitions up to 32,768 samples, which is the capacity of the USB-1608FS-Plus FIFO.

Simultaneous Sampling: In hardware paced mode, the USB-1608FS-Plus can acquire data from up to eight channels simultaneously. The analog data is continuously acquired, converted to digital values, and written to the onboard FIFO buffer until the scan stops. Data is then transferred in blocks from the device to the computer.

Channel-Gain Queue: The channel-gain queue feature lets you configure a list of channels and gains for each scan. Each channel can have a different gain setting. The gain settings are stored in a channel-gain queue list that is written to local memory on the device.

The USB-1608FS-Plus channel-gain queue list can contain up to eight unique elements. The elements can be non-consecutive, but must be listed in increasing order.

Digital I/O: The USB-1608FS-Plus provides eight high-drive (24 mA) digital I/O connections. Each digital channel is individually-configurable for input or output. When configured for input, you can use the digital I/O terminals to detect the state of any TTL-level input.

Pull-Up/Pull-Down Configuration: USB-1608FS-Plus devices have a user-configurable internal jumper to configure the digital bits for pull-up (default) or pull-down.

Counter Input: The USB-1608FS-Plus has a 32-bit event counter that can accept frequency inputs up to 1 MHz. The internal counter increments when the TTL levels transition from low to high.

External Clock: Each USB-1608FS-Plus device has a bidirectional external clock terminal.

When configured for input, A/D conversions can be paced by an external source. The USB-1608FS-Plus supports TTL-level input signals up to 100 kHz.

When configured for output, the USB-1608FS-Plus can pace A/D conversions on a second device and acquire data from all input channels simultaneously.

Trigger Input: The USB-1608FS-Plus provides an external digital trigger input with a trigger mode that is edge sensitive or level sensitive. Edge sensitive is software-selectable for rising or falling edge. Level sensitive is software-selectable for high or low level.

Calibration: The USB-1608FS-Plus supports factory calibration only.

Included Software
DAQFlex DAQFlex is a well-defined protocol that permits the programming of DAQ devices using a simple message-based interface. The DAQFlex protocol greatly simplifies driver and application development, because all DAQ operations are programmed through a common command interface, which is composed of a consistent, extensible firmware interface and an open-source, cross-platform API. DAQFlex is compatible with Windows®, Linux®, and Mac® OS’s and can be used with Android™-based tablets.
InstaCal InstaCal Installation, calibration, and test software in one package simplifies these important steps as you turn your PC into a measurement system. Installation detects new hardware and configures your computer and board. Calibration software automates this critical step and keeps your measurements accurate. Test routines verify that all the board's features are operating, and will speed you to a quick resolution. If you need to, call our free technical support. Included free with every board.
TracerDAQ® TracerDAQ® TracerDAQ is an out-of-the-box application that allows data to be generated, acquired, analyzed, displayed and exported within seconds of installing Measurement Computing data acquisition hardware. TracerDAQ has been completely redesigned to provide significant performance and feature improvements over previous versions. It now offers four different data acquisition applications; a Strip Chart, an Oscilloscope, a Function Generator and a Rate Generator, all of which are accessed via a common, easy-to-use menu page. TracerDAQ is provided standard with all Measurement Computing PCI-and USB-based data acquisition products to get customers up and running quickly and efficiently.
ULx for NI LabVIEW™ ULx for NI LabVIEW™ Advanced Driver for use with NI LabVIEW™ 8.5 – 2011. Allows quick development of instrumentation, acquisition, and control applications with Measurement Computing hardware devices
Universal Library Universal Library Programming libraries for Windows® Visual Studio® programming languages, and others. A complete function library to simplify the configuration and operation of your measurement board. A single, universal set of functions operates all our products so you only have to learn to use our library once.

Optional Software
DASYLab® Software DASYLab® Software lets you interactively develop PC-based data acquisition applications by simply attaching functional icons. DASYLab offers real-time analysis, control, and the ability to create custom graphical user interfaces (GUIs). What’s more, in contrast to other graphical programming environments, which can require weeks of training to master, DASYLab has a very short user-learning curve. Many applications can be configured in a few minutes, rather than days or weeks.

TracerDAQ® Pro TracerDAQ® Pro Provides four virtual instrument applications used to graphically display and store input data – and generate output signals – within minutes of installing Measurement Computing data acquisition hardware. The applications allow the user to customize appearance, store configurations for future use, save data to a file for export and – with the use of interactive hotspots – change settings while the application is running.
