Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent analogue voltage output, easy MATLAB integration USed this module to send an output voltage modulator (analogue) to a device motor. Integrated well with MATLAB. PRetty good examples for integrating it with MATLAB. Only recommendation for improvement would be to be able to use it in non-Windows environments. February 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by software complaints While I'm satisfied with the hardware, I am disappointed by a couple software aspects. First of all, this does not appear to be compatible with DAQami, but only with TracerDAQ Pro (not lite), which is not the greatest interface in my opinion. Furthermore, I am having trouble with glitches in the pro software. For example, the function generator crashes depending on which hardware channels I have activated, which means I am not able to take advantage of all 4 channels on this 4-channel AO product... Summary
The USB-3101 is a USB 2.0 full-speed device that is supported under popular Microsoft® Windows® operating systems. The USB-3101 is fully compatible with both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports.

The USB-3101 provides four channels of analog voltage output, eight digital I/O connections, and one 32-bit event counter.

The USB-3101 has a quad (4-channel) 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC). You set the voltage output range of each DAC channel independently with software for either bipolar or unipolar. The bipolar range is ±10 V, and the unipolar range is 0 to 10 V. The analog outputs may be updated individually or simultaneously. A bidirectional synchronization connection allows you to simultaneously update the DAC outputs on multiple devices.

The USB-3101 features eight bidirectional digital I/O connections. You can configure the DIO lines as input or output in one 8 bit port. All digital pins are floating by default. A screw terminal connection is provided for pull up (+5 V) or pull-down (0 volts) configuration.

The 32-bit counter can count TTL pulses.

The USB-3101 is powered by the +5 volt USB supply from your computer. No external power is required. All I/O connections are made to the screw terminals located along each side of the USB-3101.

DASYLab® Software DASYLab® Software lets you interactively develop PC-based data acquisition applications by simply attaching functional icons. DASYLab offers real-time analysis, control, and the ability to create custom graphical user interfaces (GUIs). What’s more, in contrast to other graphical programming environments, which can require weeks of training to master, DASYLab has a very short user-learning curve. Many applications can be configured in a few minutes, rather than days or weeks.

Linux® Support for MCC DAQ Products Linux® Support for MCC DAQ Products is available in two different ways. MCC provides direct Linux support for our DAQFlex data acquistion products. DAQFlex products support message-based programming for both Windows and Linux. Many MCC products are also supported under third-party Linux drivers. These professional drivers provide support for many MCC products including most USB and PCI hardware.
MATLAB® Support for MCC Products MATLAB® Support for MCC Products – MATLAB® is a software environment for data acquisition, data analysis, and application development. MATLAB supports MCC hardware by using the MATLAB® Data Acquisition Toolbox™. MATLAB supports the data acquisition and analysis process along with interfacing with data acquisition devices and instruments, analyzing and visualizing the data.
