1. Description

Firmware version 1.08 Main (Comms)

Note:
When updating this firmware, you should make sure the 
Measure firmware is also updated to the latest version.

This firmware update resolves an issue where, if open
thermocouple detection is enabled and a channel is open, 
there is a possibility that temperature readings on one or 
several follow-on channels will have an approximate offset 
of +1 deg C.

This firmware lowers the maximum per-channel measurement 
update rate to 2 Hz if OTD is enabled. If a 3 Hz per-channel 
measurement update rate is still desired, you will need to 
disable OTD.

2. Updating firmware using InstaCal

Note: 
Make sure you have the latest version of InstaCal installed.
The current version is available for download at 
https://www.mccdaq.com/Software-Downloads. 
If you are running the latest InstaCal and experience an issue with 
the update, contact tech support. See Section 3.

Determine installed firmware version:

To determine the firmware versions currently installed on the TC-32, 
run the InstaCal utility provided with the MCC DAQ software.
Double-click the device to open the Board Configuration dialog.
The currently installed firmware versions display on the dialog.

Firmware update procedure:

1. Download the Main firmware file (TC-32_Comms.hex) and copy it
   to the FirmwareImages subdirectory of the DAQ installation 
   directory ("Program Files\Measurement Computing\DAQ\FirmwareImages"
   by default).
2. Connect the TC-32 to your computer.
3. Run InstaCal and click the Download Firmware toolbar icon to open the 
   Firmware Loader dialog.
4. Select Update-Main and click the Load Firmware button to start 
   installing the firmware. 

After the firmware file is installed the Status field displays 
"Firmware update completed", and the Device firmware version field 
displays the firmware version installed on the device.

Click the X in the upper right corner to exit.
