Quick and Efficient Discrete I/O

I have used the Switch and Sense 8/8 device in several applications requiring low count discrete I/O signals. The Switch and Sense 8/8 is extremely easy to integrate into my VB.NET applications using MCC Universal Libraries, and always runs reliably in our industrial environment.

Yes, the Switch & Sense 8/8 is compatible with LabVIEW. Our ULx for NI LabVIEW drivers ships is included on the MCC DAQ CD that ships with all of our DAQ products.

Hello Ben - Currently, there are no product specific examples for the Switch & Sense 8/8. However, our Universal Library does come with a set of generic examples that demonstrate how to use each functions or method that the device supports. For the Switch &Sense 8/8 please reference examples ULDO04/05 for your relay support and ULDI04/05 for your digital input support.

Hello AndrewMachin - It is important to know if your hardware is the old/obsolete model (SwitchAndSense-8) or the new/current model (SwitchAndSense-8/8). The obsolete model had its own driver, and that driver was frozen at WinXP (it is not compatible With Win7). The current model uses InstaCal and the MCCDAQ CD software, which is compatible with current Windows versions. You state your model as “8A” which I am quite sure is the obsolete model paired with a 230V power supply. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Yes, multiple Switch & Sense 8/8 devices may be used to increase your channel count. You could also use our USB-PDISO8 (which is identical to the Switch & Sense 8/8, with the exception of the dimensions) allowing you to take advantage of the on-board single port USB hub to daisy chain units together for increased channel count.
