What a board! The SSR24 is a shining example of how automation development can excel with easy to use hardware. We have been developing our automated machines with measurement computing hardware for years and have yet to find a relay controller board or DAQ that had faults. This board for example can be configured to do just about anything! whether you are looking to control input with trip sensors or output to pneumatic systems, the SSR24 can be configured with ease to accept commands from an eclectic array of development languages. Also, if you need assistance with the development of your project; the team at measurement computing have a friendly staff of developers waiting for you questions with prompt and easy to follow instructions. If your looking for relay control, look no further.
While familiar with MCC products this was my first time using your modular SSR product. Using these devices allowed me to decrease my wiring and take 6 inches off of my panel design by utilizing these devices as opposed to a digital IO product with my own SSRs. The SSRs are an industry standard and cheaper than others on the market and configuring IO is as simple as plugging in the appropriate SSRs and setting a DIP switch. And as always the Universal Library makes it easy to integrate into my software. I would definitely recommend this product.

My target location for this module has only 220v available. Is the included power supply capable of 220 v operation?
Hello TomK - The included power supply is only 120 volt compatible. To operate the USB-SSR08 in a 230 Volt environment you will need to order the PS-9V1AEPS-230V power supply (this is a special order part number that does not normally ship with the product - please call us to order this power supply)

Hello Andy - From the CD provided, or by downloading the latest MCCDAQ CD, install both InstaCal and the ULx for LabVIEW driver. ULx has a help file named lvulx.chm that you will need to review. The help file lists examples that get installed to your hard drive that you can run. I suggest starting with the program named: ULx Write Dig Chan.vi
Can this device be used via VB or any Windows Programing language to control a Step Motor? We are building a Mchine and want to control 8 step motors. Could this be possible?
The USB-SSR24 baseboard, when you add in various optional solid state I/O modules, allows you to monitor and control digital (on/off) signals that can be high voltage (the modules provide isolation). If your stepper motor does not have high voltages, you may be able to use a non-isolated TTL/CMOS board, such as the USB-DIO96H or USB-1024HLS. These USB models are relatively slow (approx 10 mS per write) relative to our PCI offerings (approx 100 uS per write). In all cases, your software program turns each output on and off the number of times you desire (i.e. the boards do not have counters that output specific numbers of pulses).
