Intigrating with Delphi XE app

Used this to replace a failed obsolete TC board that was integrated into an instrument. Was able to use the old CBW.pas Delphi interface module to communicate with the USB-2001-TC which surprised me. The sampling rate of 4s/s is fine for what I need and at $99 this is a bargain.

Worked as expected

I have purchased 6 of these devices and they have worked great. I use them with a T-type thermocouple and use them with a software application I wrote. The simple command interface is great and the device has worked reliably in all cases. I have used it on Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers either directly into the USB port of the computer or with a hub and have had not problems. The accuracy barely meets my application requirements, but I think it will be OK.

Simple TC reader

Will not work with DAQFlex

This product will not run reliably with the DAQFlex driver. The device will freeze at random duration from 10min to 20hrs. Once frozen, it requires unplugging and your application re-started. Be very cautious if considering this device and API in your applications, actually, just don’t do it. Technical advice says they may look at a solution to the issue later on, but not now. Win7 and 8 32 and 64bit operating systems.

Hello - The USB-2001-TC is NOT supported under our Universal Library for Android. So integration into an Android App would not be possible. However, we do have a USB temperature based DAQ device that does have Android support. The USB-TC is supported by our UL for Android and could be incorporated into an Android app. Access to the source code would be required.

I just purchased the 1208LS, TracerDAQPro and a USB-2001-TC. The application requires monitoring two DC signals from a device in a thermal chamber at 40 samples per second. I also need to monitor the temperature and keep all on the same file/chart. I purchased the USB-2001-TC to monitor the temperature along with the dc signals. Can the USB-2001-TC respond at 40 samples per second even if the conversion rate is slower?

Unfortunately no. The USB-2001-TC has a maximum sample rate of 4 readings or samples, per second. When using both, the USB-2001-TC and USB-1208LS in the same TracerDAQ-Pro Stripchart, the max sample rate is governed by the slowest device. When using both devices in separate Stripcharts of TracerDAQ-Pro, 2 files are created, one for each execution of the Stripchart.

Answers

The “Conversion Time” is referring to the specification of the A/D converter and is the amount of time it takes the A/D to convert the analog signal to a digital signal. The “Conversion Time” is the reciprocal of the “Sample Rate”. In the case of the USB-2001-TC that translates to 4 S/sec.

Currently there is no Linux or Zabbix support for the USB-2001-TC (we're working on Linux support but I do not anticipate support for Zabbix in the near future) Also the USB-2001-TC does not support SNMP protocol.

We do not have direct support for Python with the exception of using our DASYLab graphical programming language and the new scripting module introduced with DASYLab Version 13. Another approach would be to use a third party library developed using our Universal Library. I have provided a link below for your convenience. Answers

The hardware returns uncorrected data. Use the DAQFLex.DLL in your C# of VB.NET program to obtain automatically corrected temperature data. You will need to look at the DLL source if you intend to write your own driver, and correct the data yourself. This is rather complex, and is not documented outside the source code.

I found LabView code on the MC site that works really well. The block diagram integrated into my code seamlessly. I think you need to download the free DAQFlex driver for the NI code to work.

The USB-TC-2001 has DAQFlex API support, thus the core software choices are C#.NET, VB.NET, and DAQami. There is an unofficial LabVIEW example on our Knowledge Base, showing how to call the .NET layer from within LabVIEW: http://kb.mccdaq.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50351.aspx
